Hokkado Jiel Prix d’Amerique champion
End of January means the biggest and toughest trotting race in the world, Prix d’Amerique on the black coal surface at Paris Vincennes.
In a 34/1 upset and in a very very tight finish between five contenders, the runner up in this race two years ago behind double champion Idao de Tillard became champion. In a last push on the inside after Go On Boy made a break and gave him racing space, he got his head first across the finish line. Hokkado Jiel and Frank Nivard brough a whopping €450.000 to the owners.
Hokkado Jiel is a son to Brillantissime (by Ready Cash) and the Love You-daughter Victory Jiel. He has an extremely good personal best of 1.09,1/2100m from when he won Prix Rene Balliere (Gr.I) last year and has so far made north of 1,5 million euros.
