Margaet Arion had 16 foals in 18 år and was the first mare to produce two Hambletonian winners (The Marchioness and The Ambasssador, while His Excellency came second). She was also dam to three Kentucky Futurity winners (Immortal Protector, The Marchioness and Princess Peg). Her first born was Protector who wasn't staked in the Hambletonian, but became a world champion. Margaret Arion is by many considered the best broodmare in history.
